Railsea out tomorrow!

Posted on 23-05-2012 @ 14:36:01 (UTC)

If, like me, you've been living under a rockthen you may have missed the fact that Railsea, the new China Miéville "all ages" novel, is out tomorrow!

There's some positive reviews floating around already. The Independent says:

"Railsea initially comes over as a cross between the 1990 movie Tremors and the most famous book by Miéville's near-namesake Herman Melville – Moby Dick"

Io9's review is longer and describes the book a lot more, but still comes out with a nice conclusion:

"It felt like spending the day with an utterly mad, brilliant, & dear friend playing with his train set. The language & structure are more challenging & weirder than most YA books, but any reader who gets a giggle out of thinking will enjoy this very different old-fashioned Storybook."

Most reviewers are obviously falling over themselves to include some train-related puns. I'll not get railroaded.. Sorry, I won't do that, but I'm looking forward to having a read.
